Don't be afraid..: Extraction of wisdom teeth is a routine procedure. Speak to your oral surgeon for an explanation of the procedure, and discuss antianxiety meds or even being put to sleep. It will not be as bad as you might imagine.

Means you are normal: If you were to survey people, the majority would answer that they are nervous and/or apprehensive about having wisdom teeth removed. A consultation and frank discussion with your dentist should hopefully provide you with answers and sedation options to decrease your fear. Your dentist may also choose to refer you to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for additional options for sedation.

Wisdom teeth: extraction is a serious surgical procedure and the appropriate anesthesia depends on the complexity of the surgery and your own comfort zone. With the profound local anesthesia and IV sedation you will have no recall for the events of the surgery or experience any pain. Good luck.

Afraid of what?: Talk your concerns over with an Oral Surgeon. What people fear most is the unknown. Talk to a Pro, go in with a written list of questions, and learn as much as you can from the person that will do the surgery, the person that spent over 12 years in higher education learning his skills, and who does this all day long every day. If it needs to be done, don't put it off.
