No: Although the true cause of SIDS is elusive, there is no direct evidence that it relates to the genetics involving asthma. Prematurity, male gender, poor access to healthcare, smokers in the household, etc all show linkage but no direct cause.Position prone during sleep increases the risk some, but again does not cause SIDS.
