I have had asthma since i was an infant, and i seem to get sick often and for a long duration. does asthma increase the likeliness of getting sick?

Maybe: If you have asthma since infancy and it was and is now poorly controlled, your lung function can diminish and cause respiratory infections ( i assume this is the sickness you are talking about). If you are taking oral cortisone for long periods, it can affect you immune system as well. Look into this with your physician.
