Depends: all meds don't work the same for all patients. The claritin may work for you if you double the dose. A nasal steroid might help to use every morning in addition of instead of the claritin. Zyrtec and allegra both are great. If all this isn't working, see an allergist for skin testing. Are ther predictable times of the year you have trouble, animals in the home, dust?

Allergy: It is difficult to tell . People are different and Zyrtec will work better on some and Allegra (fexofenadine) on the other

Antihistamines: The antihistamine all work the same and sometimes your allergies are too strong. Allergy testing may be helpful to see what you are allergic to and you can try to avoid them. Saline nasal lavage and steroid nasal sprays are helpful.
