Depends: I am not sure what kind of scan you are having. They will keep scanning you until your stomach empties and nobody can predict how long that will take, so that is why they are doing the test. i would guess taht it should empty in 2 hours, but who can predict?

There is: no preparation other than not eating beforehand. Following ingestion of the radiolabelled meal, the length of time for the test depends on how quickly the stomach empties. It could take 90 minutes to 3 hours or so.
