Maybe . . .: Best to go to doctor in AM, assuming otherwise doing ok. But if any change in activity (granted it should be past his/her bedtime by now), then don't wait, just go immediately to ER. Of note, there are many viruses, of which influenza (the "flu") is just one. To be even more precise, there are many types of "flu". Biggest problem is that viruses don't respond to antibiotics. So always wash hands.
