Xanax (alprazolam) : Xanax (alprazolam) is a very short acting benzodiazepine which makes it more addictive. A good alternative would be an SSRI like Celexa or Lexapro which do not have the addiction potential of Xanax (alprazolam). Therapy may also benefit anxiety

Several options: Barbiturates like Diazepam are said to be somewhat less addictive. Also ask your doctor about Trazedone, Flexeril, (cyclobenzaprine hcl) Hydroxizine, and daily anti anxiety medications. You could also benefit from natural coping skills like exercise, yoga, meditation, staying active, etc. Usually few side effects with behavioral therapy . You should talk to your regular doctor about the best choice for you.
