Several options: Barbiturates like Diazepam are said to be somewhat less addictive. Also ask your doctor about Trazedone, Flexeril, (cyclobenzaprine hcl) Hydroxizine, and daily anti anxiety medications. You could also benefit from natural coping skills like exercise, yoga, meditation, staying active, etc. Usually few side effects with behavioral therapy . You should talk to your regular doctor about the best choice for you.
