No,: There have been only 132 cases in 50 years of PAM due to that amoeba., Naegleria fowleri. When you swim in fresh water, wear nose guards There are lots of other things in fresh water that are more likely to cause disease. ( Why I like salt water or that nice chlorine in pools!). I wouldn't worry about that amoeba, since it is so rare and you didn't get any water up your nose. There is drug now.
