Many ways: The correct diagnosis is the most cost effective type of health care. What is the diagnosis? Is there actually inflammation? These are the things your rheumatologist would evaluate. Depending on your other health problems there are nsaids, dmards, biologics for inflammation and each is used according to manifestations.

See below: Decrease consumption of red meat, fried food, and trans fat. Eat more fish, particularly cold water fish like salmon (wild), sardines, mackerel or take omega 3 fish oil as a supplement. Decrease intake of highly refined sugars and white flour. Do not smoke, keep weight down. Exercise is good for people with non-rheumatoid arthritis, walking, swimming, yoga are among my favorites.
