COULD be: quite a lot, however you are mentioning the most essential signs of IBS. http://www.nerdpocalypse.net/diseases/irritable%20bowel.html Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health. Different diet can be helpful in both IBS and some other less likely food intolerance diseaes.

A 35-year-old member asked:

Do IBS patients have bloody stools?

Yes, not from IBS: Ibs does not cause bloody stools. Bloody stools can be seen with other conditions. Hemorrhoids can cause bright red blood on toilet paper, or in bowl, but so can rectal cancers. Blood coated on stool different from blood mixed in stool. Bloody stools can be seen with infection, inflammation, fragile blood vessels, diverticula (pockets), poor blood flow to bowel, polyps, cancers, etc. C ur doc.

Why does IBS cause thin, flat stools?

Dr. Robert Killian

IBS And Stool: It very well may be how inflamed the intestines are at the time the food is ingested and how long it takes to circumnavigate the GI system. Swollen intestines are probably not absorbing the calories as well, fluids may not be absorbed fully and the texture of the stool then appears different than other's formed stool can be.

No: Ibs (irritable bowel syndrome) is actually a functional state of the bowel. It should not cause bleeding. Are you thinking about inflammatory bowel conditions?

Anything goes: The stool in patients with ibs could be any color. Just be mindful of blood in the stool or black stools.
