A member asked:

My herpeselect test came back at a .071 and .078, is that normal for three decimals or did the lab make a mistake? i've only seem two decimals.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That's fine: It's the lab's discretion depending on the precision of the assay. Truth is that herpes serology is only helpful as an adjunct to the clinical diagnosis of genital herpes, and is far from totally sensitive and very far from totally specific. Make any decision about treatment with your physician, with this information as one of several factors.
