I have every symptom of hypothyroidism and it also runs in my family. however i was told my labs came back normal. are there other tests to request?

Antibodies: Check thyroid antibodies, especially thyroid peroxidase antibodies. If they are positive, you can start treatment at a lower TSH level, that is, the current "normal level of tsh" would not apply to you.
