Contagious: Strep can be transferred by sharing objects placed in your mouth. It is unlikely you can transfer it by touching something unless your hands have been in your mouth and are unclean. If you cough or sneeze anyone within a close distance may receive your germs. Try to avoid other people while you are infectious, generally for up to 24 hours after being placed on antibiotics.
