A member asked:

Keep getting constipated due to thyroid condition

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Constipation can be a symptom of low thyroid, but is also just a very common symptom in many people without thyroid disease. If you are taking levothyroxine, there is no clinical value in measuring a T3 (liothyronine) level. The only lab tests that are of value is a TSH and free T4 level. If these are normal, you are on the correct dose of levothyroxine.
