I've had a sharp pain deep in my left shoulder for a while now. it comes and goes every now and then. it hurts when i lift up my left arm. what is it?

Sounds like muscle: If you can make pain occur or worsen by moving that body part, it is most likely a muscle or tendon issue. If it is more in the shoulder joint, rotator cuff tendonitis is likely. If you have no issues with your stomach or kidney, consider ibuprofen for a few days to relieve the inflammation in the muscle or tendon.
