I want to know if umbilical hernia surgery can have effect on pregnancy later in life, iwant my 3year old girl to undergo the surgery.

Should not: Shouldn't be a problem. It will not effect her getting pregnant. At times the hernia recurs though. This can happen if someone lifts something heavy and the increase strain on the muscles and patch make it tear or an increase in weight in the midsection which will put the patch under more pressure. The hernia may recur when she is pregnant and really starts to "show", but it won't be an issue.

Umbilical Hernia: If the hernia is still present at age 4-5, most physicians agree that it should be repaired. If the hernia becomes trapped and your child is experiencing pain or vomiting then it may need to be repaired sooner.
