A member asked:

I have high vitamin a level result: 3.7 normal range from my lab is 1.0 - 2.8. i do not take supplement of vitamin a or multivitamins. why is it high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If it's truly high..: With any lab test, there is a "normal range", which includes most of the "normal" people. That also means a few normal people are outside the normal range, and some abnormal people are inside the normal range. The doctor can help decide. Foods in America tend to be "fortified", such as dairy products with added retinyl palmitate or acetate. Vitamin A is high in liver, giblets, and cod liver oil.
