I was diagnosed with pneumonia 11 weeks ago and still have a very tight phlegm producing cough with shortness of brth at night wat is this?

Few possibilities..: Even with a cold you can still have some residual cough and congestion, that is one possibility.If you have same symptoms it might be either antibiotic did not cover germ that caused pneumonia or time for treatment was not long enough. In that case you need to be seen ASAP.Other reason is that this is another type of infection not related to that illness you had before.Follow up w/ your doctor.

Residual infection: or bronchospasm- this requires further medical evaluation, therapy , xrays and pulmonary function testing.-You must follow up with your physician.
