A member asked:

No sympt. no diabetes, liver failure, no pneumonia, no sex, not pregnant. why was i incidentally found gbs in cervical smear which has to be treated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should be ok: My understanding of GBS is group B streptococcus which can be a bacteria that normally lives in the vagina. If you are having symptoms down there, plan to get pregnant soon or have an infection it should be treated. Otherwise it is normal for some women to have the bacteria GBS down there!
