No: Gbs is a colonization, nor an infection. I t generally does not cause any problems with the mother at all, but can be very invasive to a baby exposed to it during birth. Being 30 weeks pregnant is an excellent cause of irritable bowels.

Very unlikely: Most women colonized with group b streptococci (gbs) in their rectovaginal area are asymptomatic.
