No: It is highly variable when babies will sleep through the night. They develop patterns of sleeping which are hard to change, sleeping less through the day and having solids with their formula or breast milk at night might help. Sometimes they just get lonely and feel better seeing a parent. Generally by 1 year most babies but not all sleep "through the night". It may be 6 hours on their clock.

Yes: "Normal"?. Every baby is different. Some sleep through the night at 2 mos and others much later. My advice - stick to a strict wake time for first bottle (no matter when the baby last woke) and then feed every 3 hours during the day. Yes, wake that sleeping baby. Don't use eating to lull the baby to sleep. Try to remember that this time really is short - little consolation when you are tired.

Depends: If this is a new problem and your infant has up to now been sleeping all night, then please get evaluated right away. If instead your infant has always been "fussy" with some fitful sleep habits, then that is not so unusual, and you can discuss it at your baby's scheduled 6 month visit. Hope that helps.

Yes: We call it a sleep cycle for a reason - the brain will drift down thru 4 stages of sleep (light to deep) and then rise again. If your child senses a change in his environment he will wake. Always place your child into bed with a soothing sounds like the rain or ocean (sleep machines) so it will help lull him thru the cycles. Avoid feelings at night! It will teach him there's a reward for waking.
