Its OK: Most infants at 12 months sleep 10-12 hours at night and take 1-2 naps a day. If an infant is sleeping 13 hours at night and taking 1 long nap during the day, this is still ok. If your infant is otherwise meeting developmental milestones on time and is happy during the day, you have nothing to worry about in the sleep department. Consider yourself lucky-many parents do not have this luxury.

Sleeping too much?: As long as your child is active while he is awake, this sleep pattern sounds fine. If he is sleepy or lethargic during awake time, you should seek medical attention. He should be growing well and developing normally. If not, contact your pediatrician.
