Compartment syndrome: If leg is swollen, two biggest concerns are a blood clot (which would not resolve with a cortisone injection) and compartment syndrome which is where the swelling is compressing the flow of blood and nerves into your foot which is a concern, but it doesn't usually come and go over two years. See your MD.
