Nothing in the ear: You may have lacerated the ear canal, tympanic membrane, or may have an ear infection. DO NOT put anything in your ear and you should be seen in case you need ear drops and to make sure you don't have a perforation

NO cotton swabs: Stop using cotton tip applicators in your ear canals! They cause abrasions to the ear canal, push cerumen (wax) further inside, and possible rupture the tympanic membrane (ear drum). Additionally, they can cause outer ear infection (otitis externa). Drops in the ear canals may be in order. See your physician to assess the ear drum to rule out a perforation (hole).
