Probably scratched: Blood in your ear canal does not relate to tonsillitis. More than likely you scratched the canal when you put the q-tip in. It may have moved hard ear wax, or otherwise irritated it. In general, as our mom's said: don't put "anything smaller than your elbow" into your ear! if pain, or more blood, have it checked out. But more than likely it will clear up on its own.

See an ENT doctor: Tonsillar infection may produce swelling or other inflammatory changes involving the eustacian tube which opens from the middle ear just behind the tonsillar crypt. You may then get either infection or pressure in the middle ear causing the tympanic membrane (eardrum) to perforate. You should be seen and examined by an expert in this area.
