With difficulty: Colic generally occurs with 2 weeks of birth and invokes poor handling of gas in the stomach. If Mom is breast feeding avoid any foods that seem to make it worse. These babies like to suck so often a 3-4 month use of a pacifier is helpful. Helping them pass gas below with a Vaseline coated thermometer often relieves their discomfort. Wrapping snugly in warm blankets and motion may also help.
