Easy.: Assume you would like to lose 25 kg. Possible in 1 year but will be tough. Increase activity to 30 minutes of hard exercise - jogging / exercise bike, etc. 6 days / wk AND decrease caloric intake by 300 calories / day. That will give 1 Kg wt loss every two weeks. You will look better and feel better pretty quickly. 2 yr program might be easier and more sustainable.

Go slow: Simple stuff works the best . A two and a half minute intense workout per day (jumping jacks push-ups mountain climbing running in place for 15 secs each can burn off 200 extra calories a day

Weight really must: be viewed in relation to your height. But for weight loss I would recommend Curves. Getting on an exercise program and good eating regimen is the best combination. Or consider a nutritionist and trainer. Good for you, but the first step is getting started.
