No: You need a regular habit of fluids, exercise and fiber, if you are having constipation there are many safe remedies OTC but no guarantees it will be done

Should wear off: Senokot (senna) is a mild laxative with a stool softener in it and should not cause a heavy effect a day later although some stool softness may persist.

Yes: the effects of senokot is short acting. try some miralax (polyethylene glycol) it takes longer but is more gentle
