Vaseline: This type of irritation requires coating with vaseline or other clear ointment such as aquaphor or A&D ointment apply liberally 4 x per day. Loose cotton underwear to prevent further irritation You can give him tylenol (acetaminophen) if needed

Barrier cream: A barrier cream such as desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) or zinc oxide would protect the area while it is is recovering. Also soft non irritating clothing should be worn. Insure he is able to easily pass urine.
