Yes: Some fibroids do not need surgery. Fibroids that cause bleeding, pain, increase in size, prevent pregnancy or put pressure on different organs need treatment. Sometimes, bleeding can be controlled with birth control pills or repo provera (medroxyprogesterone). Bleeding may also be controlled with embolization. Please discuss with your doctor.
