Contractions: Those sound like more than Braxton Hicks. They are more intense and last longer. I suggest you go get evaluated at Labor and Delivery. You could be in premature labor.

Contact OB: While it is common to have braxton hicks contractions at this stage of pregnancy (especially in a second/third one), if something seems "odd" or unusually intense, it is ALWAYS best to contact your ob about your symptoms. He/she will decide if observation is necessary.
