BelladonnaDepression: Belladona is a plant alkaloid, from italian 'beautiful woman" as it causes the pupils to dilate enhancing the eye appearance. It easily achieves toxic levels of berries or leave are eaten. Poisoning with it causes eye dilation, constipation, confusion, flushing, cardiac and brain malfunction. It is not used for depression. Atropine or equiv are the useful analogs to it, e.g. In eye doctor dilation.
