Dental abscess: If your drawl is starting to hurt it will probably soon start to swell as well. Put some ice on there for the time being. Take some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory such as Advil or Aleve (naproxen) and get into your dentist. If you can't get to the dentist in a timely manner go to your family doc and get some antibiotics to get started on

Toothache: Painful tooth usually means abscessed or fractured tooth. Sore jaw usually means infection is spreading. There's no pills, potions, OTC's, ointments, or snake oil that will permanently cure your infection. You MUST call your Dentist IMMEDIATELY for help. The longer you wait, the more difficult and dangerous the infection becomes.
