Yes: Hereditary pancreatitis occurs as a mutation in a gene on chromosome 7. It will require follow up and family checking if found. Recurrent pancreatitis can also be autoimmune and also be associated with autoimmune diseases and finding one would influence management. Very important to do at your age.
