Definitely, yes: Entrapment of a motor nerve can result in muscle weakness or cramps. When the nerve roots C5-C6 are impinged, it can produce symptoms of the outside portion of the arm from the shoulder to the hand and thumb. This is one of the most common levels for a cervical nerve impingement.
