In conjentin helpful in treating akathisia brought about by abilify (aripiprazole)?

It is BUT: I am not a fan of cogentin (benztropine) due to its side effect profile which tends to make people (especially elderly folks) confused and disoriented. I have become more of a fan of propranolol now as an intial drug of choice in most cases of akasthia for effects of tardive dyskinesia. In many cases where the offending antipsychotic can be switched or stopped the symptoms get better on their own over time.

Akathisia: Cogentin, Propranolol and benadryl (diphenhydramine) are medications that can be used to treat akathisia.
