Cystoscooy: You may have hydroureter (dilated ureter because of the stone). This can cause not only fluid retention but also kidney damage if the obstruction is not cleared. In that situation some people get crazy electrolyte abnormalities from excess volume loss (postobstructive diuresis) that can be fatal as well. You're best off in a hospital and having the stone taken out (cystoscopically) while monitored

Push fluids: water, water, water. If the fluid backs up and pain gets worse or fails to resolve may mean you need to have help getting the stone out....your doctor can monitor this with scans. pain may stop and then return again. keep pushing fluids
