A member asked:

What would cause the reading on a total thyroidectomy to be in doubt when pathology has the entire specimen and still don't know if cancer or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More info needed,,,,: This is too vague to give a meaningful answer. More information is needed. For example, how is it in doubt? What was the procedure done for/what type of cancer, etc.? Were there tests done before the procedure and if so, what did they show? This information makes a great deal of difference as to what could cause such a result. Also see/discuss with your doctor. Best of luck.
