A member asked:

Can spironolactone cause low dhea leading to adrenal insufficiency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Spironolactone blocks some of the effects of "androgens" (including DHEA). It could potentially lower the levels of some of the androgens, but it will not lower cortisol and cause adrenal insufficiency.
