Some people do: develop tolerance with benzodiazapines like valium. I would really encourage you to discuss other medications with your physician/ psychiatrist - such as SSRI's. Also - look to non-pharmaceutical options. There are a # of ways to address anxiety: Cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Acupuncture, Acupressure,
