ALS time frame: No, if your symptoms are only 10 days old, that is probably not ALS. It takes a long time to develop the symptoms of ALS, and sometimes the diagnosis takes a long time to make. It seems likely there is some other cause to your condition.

Pattern: ALS is a chronic indolent, insidious, progressive disorder, and your muscle twitches, and arm symptoms would be better correlated with your description of "spinal cord compression".
