Be patient: You will have to avoid using that finger for typing while it heals. It may be inconvenient, and you. may type much more slowly, but it's only for a short period. If the finger gets in the way, a gauze dressing may protect it.

Laceration: You need to keep the area clean and follow the instructions from the Dr. who put in the Sutures. Once the stitches come out, usually anywhere form 5-10 days, then you can start "stretching" the finger and using it more. In the mean time, you may need to type with the other 9 fingers while the healing process takes place. Best wishes.

Keep clean and dry: Your surgeon should have given you post procedure instructions and expectations. Since he/she saw the damage first hand they would be in the best position to answer your questions.
