Seen pain doc: You are on the right track planning to see a Pain Specialist. After a thorough evaluation, a multi-disciplinary treatment plan is developed including appropriate drugs, physical medicine modalities, relaxation & stress reduction techniques, facilitating sleep, good nutrition & exercise, etc. Opiates are the last resort because of their addiction potential. Most specialists will try to avoid them.
