Wheezing: If you are wheezing and can`t breath well you should use the inhaler, specially if it is short acting

Acid Reflux: You are likely having some reactive bronchospasm. In which case the rescue inhaler (bronchodilator) will help you but the best way to manage your reflux related symptoms, is to have a tight control over it by diet and possibly medication. If you smoke, STOP. You clearly have a history of reactive airway disease. Use the inhaler if it helps the breathing but its not the long-term answer.
