Possible: Effexor (venlafaxine) and remeron do bind to the same type of receptors so it is possible that it would do the same thing. Sometimes it is the Effexor (venlafaxine) plus a food or other med with the Suboxone which might cause the interaction talk to your provider about tapering Suboxone and may do genetic testing to see how you metabolize medications.

Effexor (venlafaxine): effexor (venlafaxine) wouldn't cause withdrawal. you probably just had side effects. its notorious for being difficult to start and stop. remeron is not anything like effexor (venlafaxine) but it will help with sleep and appetite. also, what about tapering the suboxone? shouldn't have to be on it for "years."
