Prevention: Proper stretching, exercises to stay in shape, wearing ALL the proper gear for the sport you are playing, (for example a "cup" in baseball to prevent your testicles/penis from injury/ and a baseball helmet to protect your head, etc), are all important factors in preventing injuries related to sports. Sports injuries: Be sure that you are eating something 30-60 minutes prior and drinking water before, during and after working out. Do active stretches before exercise - light jogging, skipping, lunges, jumping to warm up. After your workout, do static stretches - check out Runners World or google post workout stretches. Start out slowly and build up your endurance.

Sport Injuries: Sports injuries are preventable injuries as long as you utilize protective wear and follow good sportsmanship. A good athlete understands the kinetics of the game and utilizes stretching exercises before and after and sport. Practice sessions should also be followed by a 24 hour period to let the muscle rest. In between practices the good athlete utilizes YOGA or Pilates as alt exercise modalities

Warm-up: The best prevention to avoid sporting injury is appropriate warm-up and stretching. If you have been to a sporting event you should notice the players on the field stretching, running, and generally loosening prior to the contest. They warm up so that they can play better and have less likelihood of injury
