Different: they are completely different medications. cymbalta is a mood medication known as a SNRI that also helps modulate and decrease pain signals. lyrica (pregabalin) is an anticonvulsant that effects nerves by decreasing the release of neurotransmitters that send pain signals. both can be very helpful for fibromyalgia and neuropathies.

Lyrica (pregabalin) vs cymbalta: Lyrica (pregabalin) is an anti-epileptic drug & Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an antidepressant. Both are sometimes used for pain control.

Lyrica/Cymbalta: Lyrica (pregabalin) is Pregabalin which is used for seizures, Nerve pain, & Fibromyalgia. Cymbalta is a Serotonin/Norepinephrine Reuptake inhibitor type of Antidepressant.
