Whom should i consult for thyroid surgery a general surgeon or an ent?

Usually an ENT: Hi. You want a surgeon who does a lot of thyroid cases. That's usually an ENT, but I've known some general surgeons who have concentrated on thyroid and do a great job. However, in general, you'll want the specialty that specialized in thyroid...ENT.

Thyroid surgery: You want an experienced endocrine surgeon - a general surgeon may not be experienced around the thyroid; an ENT is not a thyroid surgeon typically. You want a gland surgeon.

Experience matters: A surgeon with a dedicated practice to thyroid surgery is your best bet. Of course do your research well. Thyroid surgeries can be performed by a general surgeon or a head and neck surgeon

Either: If you chose a general surgeon, ideally you should seek out someone with further training in endocrine surgery(thyroid is included within this) or if you chose an ENT, it isn't unreasonable to look for a surgeon with further thyroid training(there are thyroid/parathyroid fellowships out there). Best of luck.
