Blood result for bilirubin was 27. all other liver function tests were great though so my doctor said it doesn't matter about the bilirubin. ok?

Isolated bliirubin: Isolated modestly elevated bilirubin is usually not meaningful but not to levels of 27. Did you mean 2.7? That would be a modest elevation, but 27 is too high to be a "nevermind".

Aha! Using mmol units where 21 is the upper limit of normal, 27 is fine, likely representing Gilbert's syndrome, a non-serious condition.
