I want to know if it's alright to divide the sleeping hours ?

Sleeping: It is best to have continuous 7-9 hours of sleep than breaking up your sleeping hours. During sleep your body is being recharged. Oversleeping is also not good.

Hard to say: What you are referring to is "polyphasic" sleeping. There aren't a lot of studies regarding this but it does seem to boil down to: it depends on the individual. Some people who sleep in these atypical patterns seem to do fine without findings of sleep deprivation while others do poorly. You may consider seeing how your body feels, but if you do, be careful about operating a car while trying.
